The microencapsulation solution by Natura laboratoriji (NL) for personal care is based on a complex coacervation where a combination of natural polysaccharide and a protein are used for entrapment of hydrophobic molecules. More than 95% materials used are of a natural origin and vegan compliant. The final material is an aqueous slurry of microcapsules or a dry powder upon request. All materials are dermatologically tested.
There are 4 main goals being achieved by this propietary method of microencapsulation:
- Slow release: certain ingredients are needed to be released continuously to the skin. Microencapuslation technology is able to provide slow release of active ingredient to skin. By working in a continous manner this results in a lower toxicity without compromising the end result. Example: Retinol can cause skin reddnes in a topical cream, by microencapsulation retinol is released slowy and therefore reducing side effects withou compromising the end result.
- Targeted delivery: since the size can be adjusted to requested need during microencapsulation formation it can be developed to be delivered to a specific target place. Exmple: hair follicle
- Improved stability: when active ingredient is prone to degradation due to various reasons, microencapsulation techniques have proven to be stability enhancers.
- Targeted release: by acounting specific physiological enviroment active ingredient can be released only when specific conditions are made. Example: NL developed microencapsulated CBD for women intimate tampoons which releases CBD only when presented in place.
